I love this time of the morning when everything is so quiet and peaceful. The kids are off to school and my husband is still asleep. I just started my coffee and I’m packing orders for Cloverbelle~my jewelry line. Cloverbelle is like a child to me, I feel like it is still in it’s infant stages but ideas abound in my sketch/idea book and I am determined to see them come to fruition. There IS a method to my madness, I have found the best creative process for me is as follows:
1. Visual~I picture what the piece will look like in my mind or draw it.
2. Gathering supplies~This usually includes a buying trip online or to one of my many favorite stores.
3. The “Put it all together” Phase~I actually make the piece by hand.
I have to say there is great satisfaction in seeing an idea come to life. I am a very impatient personality and making jewelry gives me instant gratification. I have been amazed at the response to my creations. It is cool beyond words when someone tells me, “I wore the necklace that you made on my wedding day.” or send me personal notes telling me how much they appreciate my “art”. I feel humbled and so grateful that I’m able to do this and that other people appreciate it. So, to all of the people that buy handmade and one of a kind pieces~I say THANK YOU! from the bottom of my heart.
